“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.”
Isaiah 43:13 (NLT)
There is a show that has been airing for several seasons on TV called American Ninja Warrior. The concept is that contestants must navigate a series of obstacles and hit the button at the end of the course to proclaim their victory. One of the things that I marvel at about these contestants is their grip strength. Many of the obstacles involve the contestants hanging from ledges only an inch deep – just enough for their finger tips to grab on. Other obstacles require them to leap from bar to bar while dangling 10-15 feet off the ground. It is amazing how they are able to hang on, not just for one obstacle, but for the five or six different obstacles that they must complete to reach the end – all without falling off once (which disqualifies you).
While we may marvel at the strength of these elite athletes, their grip can’t compare to the one who laid the foundations of the universe and formed man from dust. The nail-pierced hands of our Lord and Savior are the strongest that ever have been and ever will be.
However, unlike our Ninja athletes, God isn’t hanging on to possessions or objects. His grip strength is reserved for those whom have claimed Jesus Christ as their Savior. You see, when we accept Jesus, and enter into that eternal relationship with Him, He grabs us by the hand and leads us through this life and into eternity. And, as our verse today states, “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.” In other words, there is no force anywhere, including all the powers of hell, that can rip us away from God. God doesn’t ever lose His grip.
No matter what Satan and his minions may throw at you, know that your salvation rests secure in the hands of your Creator and Savior. They can’t defeat his grip on you. No matter what mistakes you’ve made, the guilt and shame you’ve endured, or the sins you’ve committed, God won’t let go as long as you ask Him in all sincerity to hang on.
So today, and every day, praise God for His grip strength. Praise Him for hanging on to you no matter what happens in life. Praise Jesus for inviting you into a relationship with your Eternal King. And, here’s the kicker, recommit to Him that you will never let go.
