Write This Down

Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

1 Chronicles 16:24 (NLT)

Getting information out to the world about God is of great importance. We’ve seen this in scripture after scripture in the New Testament. The refrain “Go therefore and make disciples” (Matthew 28:18-20) should be etched into our collective memories and spur us on. However, it often gives us pause, too. Many of us are not comfortable speaking in front of others, or to others for that matter. Perhaps we’re just shy. Maybe we’re insecure about how our voice sounds, or whether or not what we say makes any sense. I get it.

But, what if there was a way for those who didn’t have a commanding speaking voice to share their faith with others? Could that change things? I believe it could. And, I believe we in the 21st century have a great opportunity before us.

As our verse today states, we should “Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.” That word publish is the key to all of this. What does publishing have to do with advancing the gospel? Well, a ton! When we look at the New Testament scriptures, realize that the majority of those books aren’t books at all. They were letters written by Paul to different areas of the civilized world. The letters contained information on a bunch of topics regarding the Christian faith, and served as inspiration to others. Indeed, they didn’t just inspire their original audience in the 50-60s AD. Here in 2021, they still serve as gospel inspiration to billions around the globe.

In the age we live in, the opportunity to publish is literally at our fingertips. With the advent of email, social media, blogs, vlogs, and so many other avenues of information sharing, we can literally reach millions within a matter of microseconds. When we publish online, we have the opportunity to share the great things God has done with a huge audience.

We are pretty good at sharing things online already – some of which should never be shared. So, instead of just posting cute pictures of cats and puppies, throw in some inspiration about the great things God has done. Watch how God can use your written words to inspire others. Watch Him use you to reach others with the gospel message without saying a word. Send out some gospel inspiration each day and bless others 365 times per year.
