Destiny

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

If you’re reading this, God lead you here on purpose. No, not because I write great blogs, having flowing prose, or even can put words together in ways that sometimes make sense. (Though I strive to do those things). You’re reading this because God planned you to be here to read it. In fact, He has planned lots of things for you. Let me explain.

At the moment of your conception – you know when your daddy’s DNA and your mommy’s DNA collided – the Holy Spirit began furiously knitting you together. I say furiously because the building of a human being is an extremely complex process which only takes nine months. It goes at a crazy-fast pace. He formed everything about you: Your hair; your eyes; your mouth; your ears; nose; hands; feet; and so on. Then He went to work forming some extremely creative stuff – your personality. He didn’t just sculpt you, He made you to be, well, you. Unique in every way. So much so that even identical twins have very unique personalities, likes, dislikes, skills, and other amazing qualities.

Simultaneously, while He was building you in your mother’s womb, He was plotting out a course for your life – a calling. You see, we often think of a calling in terms of a job. Though sometimes the calling and employment collide (such as with pastors), that’s not normally the case. For example, the apostle Paul was called to be a missionary. That was what God built Him for. Yet, his day job was making tents and selling them in the market to earn money to live off of. God planned your life for good, for greatness. He knows who He made you to be, and He is calling you to fulfill your destiny in Him.
